Born in Boca Raton, Florida, on June 26, 1993, Ariana Grande is an American pop singer and actress best renowned for her four-octave range. She broke onto the pop music scene in the early 2010s and went on to become one of the genre’s most prominent artists.

When Grande was young, she started acting and singing. She was awarded a part in the Broadway production of 13, and she soon started to make cameo appearances on various television programmes. In 2010, she received a role on the Nickelodeon TV show Victorious, which was her big break. She portrayed Cat Valentine, a teen enrolled in an acting programme. She appeared in the spin-off series Sam & Cat (2013–2014) when the sitcom was cancelled in 2013.

While pursuing a career in acting, Grande honed her singing abilities. She published the song “Put Your Hearts Up” in 2011, and she later condemned it for having a teeny-bopper feel. Her debut album, Yours Truly, was released two years later. It included the popular song “The Way,” a collaboration with rapper Mac Miller. The album debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart and earned numerous favourable reviews. Due to the R&B elements in her pop music and her incredible vocal range, Grande has been compared to Mariah Carey.

Once more, Grande collaborated with well-known musicians like Lil’ Wayne and Minaj for her 2016 album, Dangerous Woman. A suicide bomber at an arena following a concert in Manchester, England, killed more than 20 people in May 2017 when she was on tour in promotion of the album. After that, Grande planned a performance in support of people affected to collect money. Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, and Katy Perry were among the celebrities present. Dangerous Woman Diaries is a four-part documentary series that Grande published in 2018 on YouTube. It featured behind-the-scenes video from the tour and production stills from Sweetener (2018), her upcoming album.

Sweetener, like two of Grande’s three prior albums (Dangerous Woman peaked at number two), debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 chart. It featured Minaj on the song “The Light Is Coming,” which was from the album “God Is a Woman,” “No Tears Left to Cry,” and “God Is a Woman.” Sweetener won the Grammy for best pop vocal album and was widely praised. Thank U, Next was published by Grande in 2019. Songs like “Ghostin” and “7 Rings,” which also featured peeks into her personal life, and the album’s title track, did so. Positions, her sixth studio album, was released in 2020.

During this time, Grande contributed vocals to songs by other artists, and her work with Lady Gaga on “Rain on Me” (2020) earned her a Grammy for best pop duo/group performance, Grande’s second. Grande joined the coaching staff of the television singing competition The Voice in 2021.
